About RSESS 2027

The 2027 4th International Conference on Remote Sensing and Earth System Science (RSESS 2027) will be held in Nanjing, China, from August 13 to 15, 2027. The conference focuses on remote sensing, surveying and mapping, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), and Earth System Science, with emphasis on cutting-edge theories, key technologies, innovative methods, and practical applications.

Since 2024, the conference has been successfully held for three consecutive editions under the name International Conference on Remote Sensing, Surveying and Global Positioning Algorithms (RSGPA). The previous editions, held in 2024, 2025, and 2026, brought together scholars and experts from universities and research institutions across China. The 2025 conference was hosted by Leshan Normal University, while the 2026 conference was hosted by Northeastern University. Through the continued development of the conference, its academic scope and international participation have steadily expanded. To further highlight the development of remote sensing, surveying and mapping, and Earth System Science, the conference was officially renamed RSESS starting from 2027.

RSESS 2027 aims to provide a high-level international academic platform for researchers from universities, research institutions, enterprises, and related fields to share the latest research achievements, discuss emerging technologies and research trends, and explore future directions. With advances in remote sensing, satellite navigation, artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing, related technologies are increasingly developing toward intelligence, digitalization, automation, and multi-source data integration, with broad applications in natural resource surveys, ecological and environmental monitoring, urban planning, disaster monitoring, agricultural remote sensing, and climate change research.

The conference will further promote interdisciplinary integration among remote sensing and surveying and mapping, geographic information, Earth and environmental sciences, and artificial intelligence, while fostering research presentation, academic exchange, and industry-academia-research collaboration.

RSESS 2027 sincerely welcomes researchers, scholars, professionals, enterprises, and institutions from China and abroad to participate, share research achievements, exchange academic perspectives, and promote international academic cooperation.
